Not sure if there was something larger or overarching but I loved what this story did on the surface. This might be a ghost story, but who ever heard of a ghost that gave gifts? And usually, the gifts are just nice, innocuous gifts, unsettling because they appear out of thin air, but not intimidating on their own. It’s like, thanks for the free soup, gifty ghost!

I am so glad you are still reviewing things on here. The last time I stumbled on you was a review two years ago you wrote on Milan Kundera’s “The Hitchhiker’s Game.”
She’s an amazing writer!
You really should try to read more into this wonderful story. It is about a ten year old girl trying to find her place in the world, looking for attention from the “ghost” when her family turns away from her. She discovers in the end the curry given to her by the ghost is the one thing that connects her back to her family and ten year old self.
